When Stubb had departed, Ahab stood for a while leaning over the bulwarks; and then, as had been usual with him of late, calling a sailor of the watch, he sent him below for his ivory stool, and also his pipe. 스텁이 떠나자 에이헙은 한동안 뱃전에 기대 서 있었다. 그러다 최근 늘 그랬듯 당직 선원 하나를 불러 상아 의자와 파이프를 가져오라고 아래로 보냈다.
